VESTITI CONTENTI is the used clothing collection program in the Verona area and province. The collection is carried out through the well-known “yellow bins” present in many Italian cities: with the acquisition of their management in 2019, the Social Cooperative Centro di Lavoro San Giovanni Calabria requested a restyling of the collection points and the creation of information material that would guide citizens to donate clothes correctly. The secondary objective was to remove the charitable aura around the clothing collection and create awareness of the positive long-term social, economic and environmental impact that the simple gesture of delivering your used clothes here generates.
For VESTITI CONTENTI, the new graphics for the yellow bins have been designed and the website has been opened, which collects practical information, answers to the most common questions and the geolocalized map of the collection points.
The iconic yellow of the containers brought to mind the historic Smile designed by Harvey Ball in 1963 and which has entered into everyday use: it is precisely smiles that indicate how to donate clothing and that sanction the “happy ending” of a wardrobe change. An ironic and direct tone of voice was chosen for the copy, which also brings the youngest citizens closer and makes the how and why of the VESTITI CONTENTI collection points immediately understandable.
